Decentralised cooperation in the context of the 2030 Agenda

Publication edited by the European Parliamentary Research Service, which analyses the importance of decentralised cooperation in the “localisation” of the 2030 Agenda.

The document addresses three issues. First, it focuses on the emergence of local authorities through their associations, as an institutional form of decentralised cooperation. On the other hand, it analyses the contributions made by local entities in the creation of the 2030 Agenda. To conclude, the paper takes into account the European Union's support to local authorities as key actors for development, especially in terms of decentralised cooperation.
