Learning Workshop on Localizing the SDG's
On June 15 and 16, took place in Barcelona a training workshop on the Location of Sustainable Development Goals. The workshop, organized by the Barcelona Provincial Council, and in collaboration with United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), had the objective of training and providing tools for participants to carry out the implementation of SDG's at the local level.
The workshop involved members of networks of municipalities and supramunicipal governments from different parts of the world. It was shared aset of learning tools on the location of SDGs, so that the participants become key trainers in their territories, and thus contribute to multiplying the participation of local and regional governments in the implementation of 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Through a dynamic and participative methodology, work was developed and promoted moderation and facilitation skills. Participants presented on issues related to the importance of the location of SDG's, as well as exchanged experiences around how this location is being carried out in their territories. The SDG Toolkit (developed by UCLG, the Global Taskforce, UN Habitat and UNDP) was also presented, which offers useful resources, contents and examples to plan workshops on SDG, and thus facilitates speech and tools of common knowledge.
The workshop also allowed the participants to work on the planning of their future training workshops on the location of SDG's and to identify future collaborations.
