Third UCLG Culture Summit & Executive Bureau

The third Culture Summit of the United Cities and Local Governments will be held from April 3 to 5 in the city of Buenos Aires (Argentina), under the slogan "Cities lead actions on the role of culture in sustainable development".

Representatives of local and regional governments from around the world will meet to learn and share knowledge about culture and the role it plays in sustainable development at the local level, as well as to make visible the relationship between culture and sustainable cities within the framework of the SDGs and the New Urban Agenda. The main challenges of public policies on culture, the role of culture in social transformation or the gender perspective in cultural policies, among others, will be addressed.

For the first time, the Culture Summit will host the sessions of the UCLG Political Councils, which normally take place within the framework of the Executive Bureau, where the cultural component will be discussed in each of the themes of each of the Political Councils.

The formal session of the bureau will take place on April 6 in the city of Montevideo (Uruguay), at the headquarters of Mercosur under the direction of Daniel Martínez, Mayor of Montevideo.
